My life update - 🙂
I am in my den (finally), the den that I had lent to our new puppy for the past two months. Not sure why we didn’t put him in the spare room sooner. He is still in a pen and not a crate, yet. He is very comfortable in his pen. We have a camera set up to watch him and notify us if he is awake. Getting to the point we can put him in when we want him in and not just when he is tired.
Now we are in the keeping him quiet while he heals from neutering. With a very active puppy this isn’t easy. He’s figured out how to eat and drink with the cone on his head. And get into trouble. - no not Bentley. 🤣
It has been quite the transition from having a 15 year old dog to having a puppy.
Vet appointments. Teaching him to travel in a crate in the car without crying. Lessons. Walking protocol. Food - three meals a day instead of two. Sleeping habits. Chewing (everything). Curious about everything. And on and on.
But he is getting better at listening. And he is becoming cuddly.
But all that meant I had no time for writing and no time for painting.
Bible Study
I have been reading through the Bible chronologically. It is quite the discipline. We are now reading through Kings. With the prophets interspersed. I am trying to keep the kings straight and who is who in the divided kingdom. It is not easy.
What I’ve concluded so far from reading The Divided Kingdom:
All of the Northern Kingdom (Israel) had kings who did evil. Even the ones who were less evil forgot God.
Killings of family was frequent. Jealously. Pride. Power.
Even though the Southern Kingdom (Judah) had more good kings, they did not follow everything God instructed.
Although God has said not to intermarry with Israel or other peoples, but they do. And have only one wife, they have many.
Although Israel and Judah have copies of the Book of the Law, they did not read them consistently. If they had, they would have remembered the stories and the predictions.
God speaks through his prophets. I loved the stories of Elisha.
I’m looking forward to reading about Josiah and Hezikiah.
